All around good universal remote - this is my 2nd 7/16/2013
Hugo from Houston, TX
I read reviews of the new Harmony remotes and was not too impressed so I decided to get a 2nd Harmony One for our HT room. The remote itself is a very good product and functions well. Even my wife prefers it over the OEM remotes, which is a good thing. It has enough flexibility to program most any device you own. My main complaint is with the remote setup wizard GUI. Their GUI is horrible. But at least the remote is a very good product. I only have to use the setup GUI a few times.
Awesome remote(Logitech Harmony One) 7/5/2013
John Bauldree from Gainesville, Florida
The Remote I purchased is refurbished. So far the only issue I have if you use a Mac.
To Program the remote I had to use a VM with Windows as the Software I downloaded from Logitech for the Mac does not work. I am fairly certain it is a Java issue, but as I have a Windows VM I am not to worried.
I had the remote programed for the 4 devices I am using within 10 minutes of installing the software and it works great.
I would recommend this remote to anyone
Great remote while it lasts 4/27/2013
I really would love to recommend this remote. The remote is super easy to program by simply telling the software what devices you have. Once you have it setup the Activities make it easy enough for the whole family to use and not have to know which devices to turn on and what settings are needed for each device.
Sadly the LCD screen on my remote died shortly after my warranty period ended and simply became a white screen. This is apparently a common issue with these devices but since the device relies so heavily on the touch screen it is a fatal flaw. For a remote this expensive I simply can't justify buying new ones every year or two, and have gone back to old dumb remotes that simply won't die.

The remote seems easy to use. Setup was very quick and easy. I highly recomend this remote!
Quick and Dependable 3/3/2013

I got my Harmony One remote control with in 3 days of its order. It was packaged well and works like a charm. An excellent purchase.
Great Universal Remote 2/28/2013
Jim from Denver, CO
Love it, controls all my devices perfectly.
Works for me! 2/26/2013
Hal from Miami
Other that being a bit pricey, I have to say these remote are quite good. I replaced a worn out 880 with this one. Charged it up, plugged it in and "changed remotes" and it worked like a charm. Love when technology actually lives up to it's "promise" to make our lives simpler (which NEVER happens!!!) Thank you.
Harmony One Remote Always a winner 1/23/2013
John from New Haven
I recently upgraded my home theater setup. I went right back to what I know works and is great - the Harmony One remote. I opted for a refurbished One rather than a new One+ and still very happy. I highly recommend.
I love it 8/27/2012
Dave from Spokane
What I have to control might have been considered a "home theater" in 1970 but not today. Still it is contolling my TV, DVD, and Satellite perfectly. Not so good on my old Emerson radio but I can turn it on/of and volume.
One does (almost) all 6/26/2012
Jerry from Morehead City, NC
Multiple functions from one device is the harmony's Achilles Heel. Need to train device to correct for recurring errors instead of relying on help button to fix every time. Also paying for technical assistance really sucks.
Still the best universal remote 6/20/2012
I bought this as a replacement for a previous Harmony remote. I have owned the 659, the 880, and now the Harmony One. The Harmony series is still the best universal remote I have ever used. It really does replace all of your remotes. The online programming works very well and I have some old components. However this time I didn't even have to program the Harmony One. Using the "replace remote" option in the Logitech software and everything that was programmed on my previous model was on this one
Good control 5/3/2012
Pros: Touch-screen controls, comfortable to use, web-guided setup, rechargeable Cons: Expensive, finish shows fingerprints and smudges, setup isn't easy Reviewers agree that the Logitech Harmony One is a fantastic universal remote overall, though testers do find a few flaws. The Harmony One improves upon other Harmony remote controls
Happy customer 2/15/2012
The Logitech Harmony Remote arrived complete. I programmed the remote by plugging the unit into my USB with the provided cable and connected to the very helpful online interface. Everything functions well. No issues to report. The product was perfect, the setup was easy, and the price was right. I'd recommend both the product and Buy.com to friends looking for a good deal and prompt service.
Smart purchase! 2/6/2012
Gary from Minnesota
I'm an old coot and not as tech savvy as my 9 year old grandson but setting it up for Viera 50" plasma, Yamaha ht receiver, cable box & Panasonic blu ray was surprisingly easy. It left me feeling pretty darn smart. No more box of remotes to sort through and/or lose:) Very happy with this purchase!

GREAT EXPERIENCE 12/19/2011
Stokes from Concord, Ma
Purchased the Harmony One remote - arrived on 2nd business day on my doorstep.
Had questions, so I called Customer Service at NetDirect. A PERSON answered immediately and and found the right person I needed to talk to. They were very personable, helpful and accommodating. Will buy again from them.
Very Nice Remote 9/17/2011
This remote can really do anthing. You can program it anyway you want. Occasionally it will not turn on everything, however, it is usually the way it was aimed. You do need to get the playstation adapter for it to work with a playstation 3, but then it is wonderful.. I really suggest this to rid your living room of excess remotes
Great remote control 7/14/2011
I had this remote for 2 years now and it's one of the best gadgets I've ever bought. It controls all my electronics and you can do whatever you want just pressing a button.

the ultimate universal remote 6/29/2011
Reggie from Mass
I have owned other logitech products and have had nothing but great success, this slick universal remote is no exception.
This is only my first day with the remote but I love it already! One remote has taken the place of FOUR that I used to need to run my tv, cable box, dvd, and surround sound. Now everything fits in the palm of my hand. The design is simple and it has a great deal of power. The touch screen is slick with the adjustable sensitivity and lighting options. Having a cradle to recharge the lithium battery is great, no need to keep extra batteries nearby.
The hardest part about programming was finding all of my model numbers (this was at no fault of the product). It took me about 25-30 minutes to program four devices to my own specifications. The remote comes with an easy to use program to set up all your devices.
The remote programs all of the buttons that my old remotes had, so I do not feel as if I am ‘losing’ any sort of control or customization that using 4 remotes offered. The feeling of this remote in the hand is also quite comfortable, it has a great ergonomic design. The button placement makes perfect sense and is very intuitive.
The 'Activities' option is fantastic - one button to watch a movie, watch tv, or play video games. Awesome! It took only a few minutes to set up and worked perfectly the first time.
All in all this is a wonderful product and I highly recommend it!
Fantastic Remote: Simple to Program, Even Easier t 6/23/2011
pointam from Houston texas
A year ago, I purchased the Logitech Harmony 880 Advanced Universal Remote Control and have liked it so much that I had determined to buy a second remote this year in order to have one upstairs and one downstairs. Although both the Harmony 880 and the new Harmony One each control many devices (I currently have 14 devices configured on each), it became tiresome to have to go to a different floor of the house to grab the remote for the other level.
So far, I have configured a variety of devices with this remote easily: TVs, TiVos, DVD players, VCR, Cable Boxes, and an A/V receiver. None were problematic, and all work very well. I highly recommend the Harmony One Remote for anyone who wants to combine all their remotes to one and prefers ease of configuring. Oh, and it looks pretty sharp, too. Especially with my own photographs downloaded to run a pretty screensaver!
Poor reliability 1/4/2011
Leonard from Brookfield, Wisconsin
I am tired of using this remote. Was having a lot of expectations on it but it turned out to be a nightmare. After putting together my home theater system I tried to set this up for controlling my TV, satellite box and the audio/video system. Firstly it took more than 3 hours to program it and later I found that the screen freezed up all of a sudden. I have requested a replacement.
So easy to use! 12/31/2010
FP from Chester, NJ
Once programmed, which was really easy, the remote can correct itself if an error occurs. Design was obviously done with a lot of thought. Keys are perfectly placed and simple to find. I was able to replace 4 remotes with it! I love it. Only issue is moving from TV viewing to XBOX use and back. The TV's input needs to be reset everytime. Looking into a cure.
Better than Harmony 880 9/18/2010
Stefan from Everett, WA
This remote looks and operates better than the 880 and I like the way it is charged (unlike the 880 which would only charge when very carefully positioned on the cradle). Once programmed, it works like a charm; the only thing that I did not like much was the software, e.g., I needed to delete a device in order to reprogram it instead of just updating it. Anyway, this is, overall, a very nice product.
Big improvement over harmony 800. 9/14/2010
Diana from St. Paul, MN
I originally ordered the H 880 but was not impresses so I returned it.I had to replace my harmony 800 because the craddle was no longer recharging the unit and it was totally frustrating. The new Harmony One has a great touch screen that is so much more sensative. The whole unit is laid out so inntuitivly. Feels good in the hand. Thanks to a $25.00 rebate it got the price below a new harmony 880. Very good price, great product.
Disappointed with european version 8/22/2010
A customer from Schaumburg, Illinois
The remote itself is great. I have no issues with the Harmony one. Bought it to replace my old Harmony 880 which I was very happy with. Harmony remotes rock.
I am extremely disappointed with this purchase for two reasons:
1) Very poorly packaged. The remote was shipped in the retail package inside a plastic bag. Thank goodness the Logitech retail package was able to stand up to shipping. My expectation is that the purchase would have been packed in a box with addition cushioning material.
2) Remote was the European version with a European power supply. The package included a European to US plug converter. The Buy.com web page should have indicated that the remote was a European version.
Harmony One wife friendly 8/22/2010
Labrador Lover from Prescott, AZ
I replaced my Harmony 880 with the Harmony One. Liked the 880 but the buttons for additional functions were hard to use because they are so small. The large touchscreen buttons are much easier to use. My comment about "wife friendly" is not intended to be sexist, but my wife cannot master using the 5 separate remotes that I have with my AV system.I love this Harmony One. My only gripe with Logitech is that when you change a device in your AV system, there is no way to make a copy of your previous device configurations as a base for your new configuration. You have to create a new one and reinput your configuration for all of the devices that remain the same. Not only that, but you cannot print the prior device configuration to make reentering them easier. You must use a utility like snagit to print the screens for these device pages. Overall, this is minor issue.
Not as good as everyone says... 8/14/2010
J.J. from houston, tx
I bought this remote on a recommendation of a friend after upgrading my media system to consolidate remotes. I have purchased a lot of Logitech products over the years and unfortunately this is the first one I have been truly disappointed in. First all regardless of what anyone says the software used to update the remote is simply THE WORST software I have used in a long, long time for anything. It is clunky and frequently I found I had to exit the program to just try another feature. If you think you will have a lot of options with the software, think again. Think it will do the same thing each time, think again. I am almost considering a return for another product. It is THAT bad. If you buy it in spite of this, you will see what I mean.

Fantastic remote from Logitech! 6/10/2009
I began searching for a remote that would control all of the devices in my house, because my wife gets frustrated trying to remember how to use ~7 remotes to control the systems upstairs and downstairs. Not to mention that we have a PS3 as our only disc player downstairs. So, when I saw this remote, I fell in love. And it does everything that you hope that it will. The interface on the PC is just ok... not awesome, but doable with a little patience. Depending on how many actvities you have (e.g. Watch TV Upstairs, Play PS3, etc.), it might take a bit more than the advertised "20 minute setup." But, honestly, it is totally worth it. It is a little pricey as well, but again, to be able to tote one remote around the house and turn on only the devices that are needed for whatever it is that you are doing is well worth it.

Excellent product 4/25/2009
Brian from Chicago, IL
This is my first logitech remote. Very satisfied. Worked great right out of the box, with very simple setup. Controls all of my components flawlessly. Even my family can use this remote, as it is not complicated. Most other universal remotes I have bought, do not live up to their hype, but the Harmony One does. A bit pricey, but it does replace 7 other remotes, without needing the original ones for some functions. Great overall product.
A must have for you media room 4/24/2009
D Jones from West Jordan, Utah
I purchased this remote after I purchased one for a client I built a home for. I thought to myself that this is exactly what I need at home. I was able to program it easily. I used the prep sheet to write down all of my makes and models and that made the set up quick. I really enjoyed the ability to add the HD icons on the main screen as "speed dials". The web site for the icons even had my local news channels. I was really pleased it controlled my comcast box exactly as the original remote. After using it for several weeks I was able to adjust the menus for the individual devices to the more frequently used functions on the top screen. The big winner was all of the kids are now not calling me to help them with the 4 prior remotes. Bigger benefit. The wife is able to use with no complaints. This price was $100.00 lower than most retailers and the shipping was really quick.
this is a must have.

What a great product. With just a little time invested, this universal remote will have all your equipment functioning the way you want it. If you have a home theater, this is the remote for you.
One remote to rule them all 4/13/2009
jamac from New Hartford NY
I have two Harmony One remotes--upstairs and downstairs. One replaced seven remotes, the new one has replaced five of eight (still setting it up.) I had an expensive Pronto a couple of years ago and abandoned it. The Harmony One works great. i especially like that you program it via your computer (PC or Mac), and that customer support (in Canada) can see your settings and troubleshoot your setup or write code for remote commands that you're having a problem with.
It doesn't take long to make the Harmony One functional. You will probably want to fine tune your settings over a period of days, but you really can make it do anything/everything.
One negative--that outstanding telephone support is now limited to 60 days. So if you get a new piece of equipment after that time, you're relegated to email if you need any programming from the head end.
Very pleased 3/28/2009
Brian from Atlanta, GA
I am very impressed and pleased with this remote. I have had universal remotes in the past, and have always had to keep the original remotes handy just to use a few random buttons that the universal wasn't compatible with. This remote handles it all. My house always has visitors and guests that I would need to train on which remotes to use for different activities. I haven't yet had to train anyone on using the Harmony remote, it is truly self explanatory once you set it up. It seems like my guests that have experienced using the remote, adds it to their wish list for their own household.
As geek as it gets ... 3/14/2009
James from Carrboro, NC
The Logitech Harmony One is a little pricey, but well worth it. I've replaced seven different remotes with the Harmony One.... and with downloadable programming, the ability to create your own "one-touch" command sequences for the tasks you choose, and available downloadable television "channel icons" for the "favorite channels" on your touchscreen, this thing is sweet! A few teething pains, but the remote walks you through fixing those. Just don't forget to keep the remote pointed at the system ... Highly recommended.
Great Universal Remote 3/1/2009
The Logitech Harmony One is a great remote! It was very easy to configure, simple to use, and allowed me to go from using four remotes to one. It bought me back to the good graces of my wife. :)
Excellent universal remote 2/23/2009
Replaced 6 remotes with just one. Setup took about 30 minutes, and was pretty straightforward. Only issue is a lag in volume control with my Bose 3-2-1 system.
Sweet remote 2/16/2009
I am using the Harmony One remote to work with my DVD player, TV, Wii, and Media Center PC. It took a while to get everything working properly, especially the Media PC, but it all works, with the exception of the Wii which uses Bluetooth I understand. I would buy again.
The Best Remote! 2/14/2009
Jim Kantor from Punta Gorda, FL
This is my second Harmony One. I use one in the family room and one in the home theater. Superstrong IR Output. Great backlighting. Built like a tank. TOP quality. Terrific On-Line Programming. Expensive but worth it.
Great Remote 2/12/2009
The "Harmony One" does everything that I was expecting it to do. I use it to control six electronic items and it does. Good price for the value too.
Great Remote 1/31/2009
Chris P from Augusta, G
This is a replacement remote for my older Harmony 880 style. The Harmony One has better button layout and tactile feel in your hand. There is enough room between the most commonly used buttons to learn them quickly without having to look directly at the remote. The touch screen part works flawlessly for me. Of course, with just an hour of your time you can have the One working just about any piece of equipment in a home theater.

Good Product 1/24/2009
I like the product. It is sleek and easy to use. Similar to the other Harmony remotes, if something does not turn on or off, you have to go through the help which is kind of a pain, but typically solves the problem.
Best Universal Remote Ever 1/21/2009
This remote does everything. Plus, it's easy to use and easy to program. It's great how it lets you split events so you can have different components control different parts on the remote at the same time. It was also a refreshing change that it had my Viewsonic TV info. For any other remote, I'd have to have it learn the codes for each key individually. For the harmony, I just did a search and everything was there. I like the remote more as I use it. It's definitely worth every penny.
Best Harmony yet 12/10/2008
This is my third Harmony remote, and it is far and away the best. Buttons are placed logically, and what you don't like you can customize fairly easily in the software.
Best Remote Ever 11/29/2008
My wife bought me this remote for my birthday and it was great. I have had several other high end programmable remotes and this is by far the best one of them all. I really found no cons to this remote especially since it is suited for the beginner or the advanced user.
Best remote on the planet 11/24/2008
Tweakman from Dallas, TX
This is my second Harmony, replacing the 676. It is a marvel. Touchscreen with customizable icons (add your own pics!), truly logical layout of hard buttons, great backlighting, lights up when you move it, charging station, outstanding IR power and range (no need to point it at all). You can fine tune the various delays (hint: the defaults are really slow; I cranked mine up to zip thru the commands). Even the wife, who hates A/V, is starting to use it. Read the user manual and explore the online setup software; this is one smart puppy and you can make it do tricks.
Time to throw away your other remotes 11/23/2008
Dave from Bothell, WA
Harmony One is most versatile remote I have ever used. I purchased the remote two weeks ago and I am impressed with it's ease of use. Programing the remote is fairly straight forward and I return to the Harmony site to add new functions as I use the remote more. Initially it took me about 20 minutes to become familiar with the website enough to start programing the remote. When I sat down to watch TV, I found myself enjoying it more because of the simplicity of the Harmony One. I was recommended the Harmony by a family member and I recommend it to anyone else.
The smartest Remote available 11/12/2008
Ben from Irvine, CA
My brother, who is in the Audio Visual business, recommended the Harmony One to me. He said I would not be disappointed. He was right. There are many universal remotes available, but I don’t believe any of them work as smart as this one. There is no need to select different options to operate functions. For example, if you wish to watch TV, you press “Watch TV” and the remote does the rest. It will turn the TV on, turn the receiver on with one click. Also, to listen to music on the CD player, you would do one click on the remote being “Listen to Music.” This would turn the TV off and turn the CD Player on. The remote is configured via the Internet. It is very easy to set up, and you selected how the different devices work together. Also, when I added my Cable Box/DVR to the configuration I was asked if I wanted to leave it powered on at all times, I selected yes, as I record TV programs as various times. So when I click the Power Off button on the remote, everything is powered off except the Cable Box/DVR. Once the configuration is complete, the remote is updated by connecting it to your computer via the supplied USB cable. The touch color screen is a big plus for ease of use and information feedback. If something goes wrong when you make your selection, you can press the help key, and the remote will troubleshoot the problem for you by asking you a few questions. It works. Even my wife loves the Harmony One. Prior to purchasing this remote, I had 4 remotes to fumble with. The quality of the remote is tops and very well constructed. I highly recommend the Harmony One Universal Remote. I give it 5 stars in all categories.
Great programmable remote; not for the timid howev 10/30/2008
Charlie from Ridgefield, Connecticut
I purchased the Harmony One to replace an 880 that we've managed to lose somewhere in our house. Some quick on-line research made it pretty clear that the newer Harmony one device was receiving rave reviews and so rather than replacing like with like even though it did mean having to repeat the set up and reprogramming steps for the new device. The "out-of-the-box" experience with the Harmony one was terrific. It's well packaged and the initial installation and setup is well documented. The software installed easily in the initial configuration passes were not as complicated as those I remember applied for the earlier 880 experience.
In my environment I have a TiVo a DVD VCR recorder combo unit a cable TV box and a large LCD screen, each with their own remote control devices and all from different manufacturers. I didn't want a complex set up just a simple single button selection for watching cable TV for watching something on TiVo for watching a DVD or VCR; basically I wanted to consolidate my for remote controls into one which is a basic philosophy of the Harmony on it.
It probably took me closer to an hour than 30 minutes to get the configuration right, but in the end I had exactly what I was looking for: an easy-to-understand and use, point-and-click device that does its job well. As one of the reviewers I've read elsewhere commented, it passes the "wife" factor, i.e. my technophobic wife has found the use of the unit very easy and noted herself that it was much more logically arranged and easy-to-use than its predecessor. A good selection for just about anybody.
I will warn however, that there are aspects of the software used to customize and program the remote that are less than immediately obvious. For example rather than simply having a choice for TiVo you have to know that you want to set up a PVR which I guess must stand for personal video recorder or programmable video recorder or something. More significant is that the user interface requires you to go in and Al of different menus and organizations of information in a fashion that I personally didn't find very intuitive. Nonetheless it's manageable if you get through it you'll end up with a remote that does what you want it to so I can't help but give this product top marks.

set up was easy and the remote works well for a wide variety of functions found on the original remotes...so far not a single problem

Great Technical Support 5/24/2008
Probably the best technical support I have ever had. It is a shame that the remote failed so miserably. The remote would work once or twice before having to be reprogrammed. It could not remember the sequences to turn on the TV and the audio system; I almost wore out the help button. Technical support spent hours with me on the phone. Shortly after having things figured out on the phone, the remote would hick-up and mess up it's sequence. It is a shame, the couple of times it did work, it was a great remote, but I have to return it because it made watching TV a chore rather than a pleasure
